Welcome to Smoky Mountain Photos. This site features photography
of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the area around Gatlinburg, TN. You’ll find some of my own photographs
here, but it is hoped that this site will serve as an “appetizer” that will lead you on to view the work of some
of the outstanding nature photographers who have captured the beauty of this area.
Links are provided to several excellent sites, primarily those of nature photographers,

When I began to look into the genealogy of my family, I was not surprised to learn that my ancestors came
from the Highlands of Scotland, because I have always loved the mountains. I grew up in South Mississippi, and there are no
mountains there! I first visited this area in 1960, and my wife and I came here on vacation several times over the years.
When I reached retirement age, I had the opportunity to move here---so here I am!
